About SBIR:
The SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) program is a pool of $2.5 billion of federal government money to be awarded in the form of grants each year to small businesses (under 500 employees). The grants (up to $850,000 per company), are to be used for research and development, and commercialization of innovative products and technologies. This is a very competitive process with companies from across the United States submitting proposals. The most successful proposals are those that are well written.
